9 Movie  ***

This is a strange movie, of course Tim Burton is involved and it’s true to his form. I really wanted to see it because of the trailer it really looked good. The trailer made it seem different than it actually is. Now don’t get me wrong if you like this type of movie then you will love it. To me it didn’t get interesting until the end, but you have to see the beginning to understand the end.

Just because it’s animated it really isn’t for young children. It’s an apocalyptic movie, I love these, but there aren’t any humans left. Just these little burlaped creatures created by a scientist who apparently created the machines that destroyed mankind.

The main character is one of the creatures named 9 (nine). As the story opens 9 wakes up and can’t talk, and you really don’t know what’s happened except he wakes up and sees this war torn world. He then meets another little bug eyed burlaped creature named 2 (two). You know this because the numbers are painted on their backs. Then the adventure starts. 2 helps him talk by tearing out a talk box from a doll that is lying nearby. They kind of remind me of The Borrowers. And placing it into 9’s chest, which by the way he can open with a zipper. They then are attacked by a strange spider from hell looking machine. 2 is carried away by this creature, and later 9 finds other numbered friend that look like him and the story continues. I know I give too much away, but I just want to give you a feel of the movie. Sorry!

Out of 5 stars I give it a 3 because the animation and special effects are really good. You forget that it’s animated.
